Short Bio
I am a Social Psychologist who is interested in emotions. I am a faculty member of the Graduate School of Management at the University of Haifa where I serve as the Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Research on Emotions, head of the Behavioral Science area in our school.
Research Interests
My main research interest is with social emotions. Among other things, in my work I explore the way social judgments give rise to social emotions, on one hand, and how such judgments often stem from social emotions, on the other hand. Most recently my research focuses on the social consequences of observing others' emotions. In particular, I am exploring personality inferences made by observers witnessing others' emotions and the impact of such emotions on social judgments. In each context the research focuses also on the processes involved. Hand in hand with my empirical work, I also have a strong theoretical focus on understanding, defining, and characterizing social emotions and social processes related to emotions including from a functional perspective.
