Sagi Akron is a faculty member in the Department of Business Administration, The Faculty of Management, at the University of Haifa. He joined the University of Haifa in the Fall of 2010 as a Lecturer of Finance (the Israeli parallel academic rank to Assistant Professor of Finance).
Since 2018 Sagi holds a position of a Senior Lecturer of Finance (with Tenure).
Sagi holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from University of Haifa; M.Sc. in Economics from the Technion and University of Haifa; and Ph.D. in Finance from Leon Recanati Graduate School of Business, at Tel-Aviv University.
His research focuses on corporate finance and corporate governance - managerial compensation, corporate hedging, IPOs certification in Emerging Markets, anomalies in light of business cycles, real estate public momentum, the financial implications of corporate social responsibility, behavioral finance, and Financial Economics interaction with multiple management disciplines.
Sagi has been teaching in academic institutions since the Fall of 1996. His teaching experience includes several academic institutions and programs such as, the undergraduate, MBA, and MHA programs in Recanati Management Faculty, at the Tel-Aviv University; the MBA and Executive MBA level at Bar-Ilan Graduate School of Business Administration; and the MBA and IMBA in the Graduate School of Management, at the University of Haifa. Likewise, he taught at the undergraduate program of University of Haifa, the Management College, the Tel-Aviv College, and the Western Galilee College.
He is the academic head of the MBA program with specialization in Shipping and Sea Ports Management.
