MBA - Master in Business Administration

The School of Business Administration conducts seven study programs: General MBA program for managers, MBA program specializing in Strategic Management of Human Resources*, MBA program specializing in management of Real Estate and Land Appraisal*, MBA program specializing in management of Non-Profit organizations*, MBA program specializing in management of Shipping and Ports, MBA Research Program with thesis, and MBA program specializing in Sustainability (Global Green MBA), a joint program with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Management and is taught in English.

The programs are intended for managers with a suitable academic background and managerial experience who want to develop and expand their managerial abilities and tools for improving managerial decisions. The programs expand and deepen the knowledge needed for successful operations in a competitive and changing environment, as current approaches to management, and applicable theoretical models and methods are presented.

Studies in the various programs take place in track B only (master's degree without a thesis), except for the Research program that takes place in track A (with thesis). The extent of weekly semesterial hours in the various programs ranges from 40 to 52.

* In programs in which the specialization courses constitute between one-third and one-half of the curriculum (33% -50%), the specialization will be indicated on the certificate. In programs in which the specialization courses constitute less than one-third (33%), the specialization will be indicated on the transcript.


Registration

Registration will begin on 29.01.2023 and will end on 30.05.2023.

Admission - General Information

Women and men who possess the following qualifications are welcome to apply for admission to our programs:

  1. An accredited undergraduate degree with a minimum grade point average of 80 or the equivalent *

  2. Preference for those with at least 3 years of managerial/professional experience.

  3. Completion of the GMAT/GRE/Internal Exam, with a minimum grade that will be determined periodically **

  4. A excellent command of the English language (An MBA student must prove reading, writing, and verbal skills in the English language. Some of the courses and workshops may be given in English).

  5. Qualified candidates will be invited for an interview.

* For applicants who hold a foreign bachelor's degree, completion of the GRE exam is required. The minimum grade will apply to both quantitative and verbal parts of the exam. For GRE info- click here.

** A GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) score is required for the General MBA program for managers. For all other programs applicants have to pass the School's Internal Exam instead of the GMAT Exam. This exam consists of 3 parts: Verbal, Quantitative and English, and requires a minimum grade that will be determined periodically.

Upon receiving the GMAT/GRE score, candidates are requested to provide the University of Haifa with the original or authorized copy of the test score.

  • The deadline for transferring the results of the GMAT examination to the program coordinator is the end of May each year.

- Applicants who hold a Ph.D from accredited universities, will be exempted from taking the GMAT/Internal Exam.
- Applicants who hold advanced degrees from accredited universities, as well as applicants who hold senior managerial positions, may request to be exempted from the GMAT/Internal Exam.
- Applicantss with an appropriate academic background in the quantitative field, may request to be exempted from the GMAT/Internal Exam.
A school committee will discuss all requests, which must be submitted through the program coordinator.


Transfer students

Transfer students (from equivalent programs in other accredited Institutions of Higher Education), who are accepted to the program, have to present documentation (transcripts and syllabuses if necessary), for the purpose of examining their right to be credited for certain courses.


Programs' timetable

Typically, programs stretch over 5-7 periods. 
Each period consists of 8 studying weeks, followed by an exam week.
The exams may take place on any weekday during the exam week.

A student must take all courses as determined for every period. It is not possible to advance more slowly by spreading the different courses over time.

  • In the General MBA Program (in Hebrew), classes are held on Thursdays 15:00-21:00 and on Fridays 08:00-14:00.

  • In the MBA program specializing in Strategic Management of Human Resources, classes are held on Tuesdays 15:00-21:00 and on Fridays 08:00-14:00.

  • In the MBA program specializing in Management of Real Estate, classes are held on Tuesdays 15:00-21:00 and on Fridays 08:00-14:00.

  • In the MBA program specializing in Management of Non-Profit Organizations, classes are held on Tuesdays 09:00-19:00.

  • In the MBA program specializing in Management of Ports and Shipping, classes are held on Thursdays 15:00-21:00 and on Fridays 08:00-14:00.

  • In the MBA program specializing in Sustainability (Green MBA), classes are held on Thursdays 15:00-21:00 and on Fridays 08:00-14:00.

  • In the MBA program specializing in Technology Team Development, classes are held on Thursdays 15:00-21:00 and on Fridays 08:00-14:00.

  • In the MBA Research program with Thesis, classes are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays 15:00-21:00 and on Fridays 08:00-14:00.


Attendance and Exams

  • Attendance is mandatory in all sessions, workshops, assignments, and seminars.

  • Every eight-week period has one exam date per course.

  • Exams may take place on any weekday. Students will be notified in advance.


Tuition

MBA students will pay for the entire program a regular university tuition of two academic years + ancillary payments (security payments, services, etc.), subject to the NIS regulations.

Duration of the program - two years of academic studies.
